ANTIRAGGING CELL :
As per the guidelines of UGC under the Act of 1956, which is modified as UGC regulations on curbing the menace of Ragging in higher Educational Institutions, 2009, Anti-Ragging Cell has been established in our college.
Ragging helps breaking the ice between the seniors and juniors and helps them interact with each other much firmly. It helps in developing a friendship between them. But ragging in India commonly involves serious abuses and clear violations of human rights. So ragging is now defined as an act that violates or is perceived to violate an individual student's dignity. Following Supreme Court orders, the government operates toll-free number of 1800-180-5522 and e-mail complaint service helpline@anti-ragging.in which registers complaints of students while maintaining anonymity. Ragging is punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years, and shall also be liable to a fine which may extend to Rs. 10,000 under section 4 of the Act.
